Can you think of a better feeling than accomplishing a goal then making a huge check next to that goal on your things to do list? Or landing a big client, nailing a presentation? You feel like the world is your oyster. You have a particular pep in your step.

Everybody loves to win and nobody (and I mean nobody) likes to lose. But I guess losing has to happen as a way to balance out in the world.

When it’s your turn for temporary defeat, how do you react? Does your head hang low? Do you have a temper tantrum like a five-year-old? Does this minor delay cause you to give up on your goal altogether?

Be a great winner and a great loser. I know this may sound mildly insane. So for clarity, being a great loser means finding a way to remain just as confident as you are when you get the big W as you do when you get the L.

Because the truth is…winning is temporary and losing is not permanent.
